Changing Borders and Women as the Narrator: The Case of Syrian Circassians

Since 2011, with the Syrian conflict, a sizeable portion of Circassian diaspora have fled to Turkey. The experience deportation due civil war exposed community same trauma for third time. However, as refugees were forced leave their country, they experienced different conditions than Arab and Kurdish counterparts. Utilizing solidarity networks through kinship relations, appears avoided hardships encountered by other refugee groups at least some an extent. In meantime, developed new survival strategies in face general negative attitudes towards Syrians. recent diasporic has been generally discussed regards issues social class, ethnic affiliation, distinction. Yet, gendered dimension migration underestimated or neglected.
